Last week in reading students focused on determining important versus interesting information within a text. We also discussed how authors use signal words to help us identify the sequence of events within a text. In Social Studies, we began studying the Southeast region by identifying states on a map and discussed the physical features of this region. On Wednesday, we enjoyed a nice walk to the St. Anthony Water Treatment Plant where we learned about how they clean and use water in St. Anthony. We wrapped our week up with a snowy Friday and our first visit with our 1st grade buddies in Mrs. Kessler's class!

Here shows 4th grade students working in collaborative groups to create a non-fiction text feature for our classroom magazine. Each student was assigned a role within the group and worked together to complete their designated task. Look for our published magazine at conferences! |
